The VST Telescope structure and ALT/AZ axis systems at the Cerro Paranal Observatory in Chile.

MILESTONES

• On the 31st of July the Vst has reached the Antofagasta port in Chile.

• The VST transport has been done in two days/nights.

• On the 2nd of August all the boxes have reached the Paranal Observatory and part of them have been unloaded from the trucks.

• On the 3rd of August all the big boxes have been unloaded and inspectioned.

• On the 23rd of August baseplate has been positioned in its home supports.

• On the 12th of September the Topring assembly has been positioned into the dome.

• On the 6th of October the Azimuth Box has been positioned on the baseplate.

• On the 12th of October the M1 cell and M2 dummies have reached the VST site in Chile.

• On the 22nd of November all the VST first block of subsystems have been positioned into the dome.
• April 2008 - The end of the integration activity at Paranal for the first block of th VST subsystems.
